That's what we want your child to feel when they come to see us. Feeling welcome means feeling free to ask questions and to be part of and having some control over your own care. You and your child can do that here!

When we use the word care we mean it. Feeling cared about involves the building of a trusting relationship. We are special for many reasons, but perhaps most of all because from the front desk to the Doctor, everyone wants to have a fun and fulfilling relationship with your child and you.

Haley, age 6, put it like this to her mom when they pulled into the parking area, "Oh good we get to see the fun dentist!" This was a child that had needed a lot of dental treatment in our office and yet genuinely enjoys her trips to see us!

Our office IS fun. Why? Because fun is how children learn. Fun allows children to relax. Fun is a child's "turf". They feel some control in an atmosphere of "Fun" and feeling control decreases anxiety!

Robert Wade, MS, DDS, is uniquely qualified to care for your child. Dr. Wade practiced for almost 10 years as a child and family counselor treating children and their families with anxiety, behavior, and emotional challenges. (See more information under "Our Story")

The Philosophy of our practice is to provide state of the art care of each child's oral health while building a strong sense of self worth in each child. These goals cannot be accomplished in an "assembly line" manner. Instead, each child is treated based on their personality and needs.

Our mission is for every child that we care for to have a good experience with dentistry now, but also to learn to like having their teeth cared for so that they won't grow up afraid and avoidant of dental care.

Dr. Wade is proud to be a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The Iowa Dental Association, The Des Moines District Dental Society, and the Des Moines Area Pediatric Dental Society. He is on the staff of Blank Children's Hospital, Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Iowa Lutheran Medical Center, Lakeview Surgical Center, and the Des Moines Surgical Center.
